The new Hilco terminal was originally designed for asphalt pavement. We met with Hilco management and the project coordinator was very familiar with the benefits and life-cycle maintenance cost savings associated with concrete paving in lieu of asphalt. When he saw we utilized the latest in 3-D robotic laser screed placement and our commitment to ACI 330 placement techniques, Swederski was asked to prepare our proposal. Sq Ft Placed: ~127,000 sf Mix placed was a 4000-psi at an average slump of 4 ½ Design yielded 3-day breaks of approximately 3000-psi and at 7-days, all breaks were in excess of design 4000-psi All pavement areas, except front car parking, are 8 in thickness The 8 was the owners decision, as the design tables indicated 6 ½ The car parking area was placed with 6 concrete at the owners request The entire exterior concrete design is an Unreinforced Parking Lot Bulk Pavement was placed in 4 pours Pour sizes were driven by the shape and size of the portion of the parking lot being placed Total Exterior Concrete placed was ~ 3500 c.y.
