This project was located approximately 50 miles west of Indianapolis. It was a 255,000 sf addition to the existing distribution center. The foundation was completed in less than 3 weeks. It included intense rebar and over 100 anchor bolt settings. Over 1000 holes had to be drilled into the existing foundation and tied together with the new foundation using epoxy and installing rebar. The foundation required fast pace and accuracy to meet the schedule of the steel building delivery. The building was delivered by trucks scheduled every hour, so there could be no delays. The building was erected in just over thirty days and we were back preparing to place the floors. The floors were 7” thick, unreinforced, and had to meet flatness and level specifications with tolerances of less than 1/8” in ten feet. We achieved the flatness tolerances by 1.5 times what was required. The interior floor and the exterior slabs required over 6000 cubic yards of concrete, and it was all completed in two weeks. SCCI started the foundations in April, and the owner was starting to take occupancy in August.
