Concrete white-topping over existing +60 year old concrete road. The surface of old concrete was milled to create a rough surface that the new concrete could bond to, then pressure washed to remove dust and increase the bond. A high performance concrete mix with structural synthetic fibers was placed at a thickness of 3 inches directly over the milled old concrete. Control joints were cut using early-entry saws, at spacing closer together than typical pavements to reduce curling stresses and minimize the tendency of existing cracks reflecting up into the new pavement
