Underground aggregate pit at a paver-block manufacturing plant. A concrete ramp had to be at the exact slope of the conveyor that was to be installed over it. The pit at the bottom of the ramp had multiple pad elevations and walls extending up to 17 feet tall. Embedded angle iron and steel I-beams protected the pit walls at the top and supported a heavy duty steel grate system that allows full semi to drive over the pit and dump aggregates directly into the underground hoppers.
